The Family Man Review Analysis and Further Updates

The craze of Family Man season 2 doesn't really give any chance for such a late review, that's why I decided to analysis the series also.

Because Analysis is something (Though I am also a new student in this field) that is very biased now a days. May be it is very common that we have read a good review and analysis about a movie and go to see that. But when we come out of the hall, you feel very disappointed. Similarities? Yes..they can be biased.

So let me start. And I am going to share with you all my thinkings about this series through this blog. I just finished the 2nd season few hours ago, and literally I was watching it constant, almost finished it in one and a half seat.

So first let's come to the name 'Family Man'. Family is the most important thing in everyone's life. Maybe you are the source of income for the family or maybe you are The Home Maker, but in both of the cases, family comes first, right?

In this series, Manoj Bajpeyi plays the role if Srikant Tiwari, who is secretly working at TASC ( Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell), is a middle-class man. He is working for national security as an undercover. And the way he tries to make balance between his family and job gives the title 'Family Man', here one of the poster of the series is very interesting, where Srikant is carrying a market bag in his hand, looking like a proper family man and in the mirror, he is a officer of TASC. 

I felt one of the openining scenes very interesting. When Shrikant is giving a lift to Dhriti and Atharv for school and a bike comes across his car. After that, the bike rider  constantly abused him, but he said no word. When Atharv wants to say something as answer, he also forbade him. And just they go out of the car, he picked up the phone and said a slang as an angry tone. This scene shows the change between a responsable father aka family man and The Srikant Tiwari aka a senior officer of TASC.

About The Series

The Family Man is an Indian Espionage action thriller, streaming on Amazon Prime, directed, created and produced by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK( popularly known as Raj&Dk). Their production company is called D2R Production. 

Raj & Dk's first film in bollywood was 99, their next film Shor in the city was the most acclaimed film of that year. They came back after several years with Go Goa Gone which was India's first stoner comedy film.  When they were shooting the first season, they also celebrated for the success of their film "Stree", one of the most profitable films of all time.

Family Man follows an investigation of a potential terrorist attack. It is highly inspired from the regular news paper articles. Plus, the Protagonist of the show Srikant Tiwari simultaneously followed his highly unstable family life. Priyamani plays the role of his wife Suchitra(Suchi) Iyer. And Ashlesha Thakur(who started to use his own name instead of the previous stage name from the season 2) plays the role of his daughter Dhriti Tiwari. Vedant Sinha plays the role of Atharv Tiwari, the youngest family member. Sharib Hashmi plays the role of Jayavant Kasinath "JK" Talpade, the partner and friend of Srikant Tiwari. Though out the series one of the mosr enjoyable thing is the chemistry between Manoj Bajpeyi and Sharib Hashmi.

The Family Man Season 1 was showcased at the Television Critics Association's summer press held in Los Angeles in July 2019 and premiered on amazon prime on 20 september of the same year. It got critical acclaim and positve reviews. It became the most viewed web series of prime. It revieved 11 nominations at the Filmfare OTT awards and gave Raj&Dk the best director award with several other awards.

The 2nd Season is about the storyline focused on a terrorist attack by LITE. In the 2nd season south Indian Actress Samantha Akkineni as Rajlakhsmi Sekaran (Raji) plays one of most powerful women character of bollywood.

Film and Acting Styles.

The Directors used one take shots as their trade mark through out the series. Some of them are so memorable and gives outstanding excitement. In season 1 that hospital action scene where Moosa tries to come out of the hospital and the TASC officers faces a terrorist attack from sleeper cells. In the one take shot the actors couldn't use any stunt double so they had to do all the actions alone. And both the end climax scenes are  long one take shots with some extreme peculiarities. In season 2 all the vehicles, gun shots, plane etc etc but inspite all of these a great shot. Kudos to the cinematogaphers and the directors.

The act of story telling and the story based on news paper articles is very positively executed with a lot of shades.

Manoj Bajpeyi plays a excellent role and also won the Best Hero for season 1 in Filmfare OTT Awards. I am saying again that I very much enjoyed Srikant's Chemistry with Jk. Srikant tries a lot to maintain his family and it starts to break down. Priyamani also gave enough justice to her role. 

But Samantha Akkineni is too much. She is a very much famous actress of South Indian industries and daughter in law of The Nagarjuna Akkineni. Though she is very famous in tamil and telegu industry, she made her bollywood debut with this role. And the role Raji, one of the most powerful female character of bollywood. The directors gave her enough space and She did an excellent job. This type of role was completely different from her genre. She had to be trained in martial art for this series. He acting was too good.

 The language gives this series authenticity. The use of enough tamil and malyalam language makes it real. Plus the directors used actor and actress from all over the India by thinking about PAN india in their mind.

Further Updates

The third season preview at the end of season 2 indicates a linking between Covid 19 and China and other North Eastern States of India.

In an Interview with Bollywood Bubble Manoj Bajpeyi aka Shrikant Tiwari confirmed that the story is ready.

He said "If everything goes right, it will still take one and a half years or more than that for the third season to be ready".

While the first season of The Family Man unfolded in Mumbai, Delhi and Kashmir, the second season was set in Chennai, London, Mumbai and Delhi. The third season is likely to involve the Northeastern states. Creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are also likely to work on another series, starring Shahid Kapoor, before they begin working on season three, actor Priyamani had said in an earlier interview.

 After finishing the season 2, I am also eagerly waiting for the third season. So  I can hope I have given you something valuable?
